Our brilliant teams of netball enthusiasts gathered on Thursday night to play out week two of our fabulous season of social netball at Christ The King in Newport and the games all lived up to the expectation of being fun with just enough of a competitive edge to them.
Game one this week saw Hot Shots get the better of Wingland in a close match that ended 18 - 12 to maintain Hot Shots strong start to the campaign. Micha Brook was highlighted as the star player for Hot Shots, her energy and enthusiastic team play going a long way to securing the points for her team.
In the 2nd match it was Wight Shots who claimed the win following a cagey, low scoring match up with Net Ninja's. Leanne Gilbey stole the show for Wight Shots and her great movement and passing enabled her team to secure the win 8 - 3
Shooting Stars picked up a points win from their friendly game and showed some great skills in doing so, Sarah Wherry was highlighted as playing some great netball for her team and she was awarded the player of the match award in their game.
So with two weeks ticked off and the half term break out of the way we are back to weekly games and can look forward to the run up to Christmas with plenty more fun Thursday nights of netball in Newport.
